The Begining The Morris School was officially opened on Monday 30th September, 1957 by The Rt. Hon. The Earl of Scarbrough at 2.30 pm., presided by S.W. Hankin Esq. J.P. Chairman of the Goveners. A bouquet of flowers was presented to the Earl of Scarborough by pupil Carol Wheeler. The Programme was as follows (Quote): 1. Hymn "Now thank we all our God" 2. Passage of Scripture to be read by the Rev. D.O. Williams, Methodist Minister. 3. Prayer of Dedication by the Rev. Canon A.H. Morris 4. Speech by the Chairman of the Goveners. 5. Welcome to the visitors by the Chairman of Skegness Urban District Council, Councillor J.H. Edwards J.P. 6. The Earl of Scarborough will declare the school open and give an address. 7. Vote of thanks to Opener. Proposed by Alderman Sir Weston Cracroft-Amcotts Chairman of the Lindsey County Council. Seconded by J.W. Nelson Esq. Vice Chairman to the Goveners. GOD SAVE THE QUEEN The Blessing will be proposed by the Rev. G. R. Sansbury Rector of Skegness

For those who remained at school in the fourth year, the only qualilification available was the "School Leavers' Exam". The certificate (left) was awarded to Silvia Watkiss (Nee Miller), who qualified in: English (With Credit) The Year: 1957 The Certificate is signed by: F.J.
