11th & 12th Dec
Skegness Beach Event
The Amateur Motor Cycle Association (AMCA) will run Skegness’ first motocross beach race in December this year. In excess of 300 motocross riders of all ages will race up and down the beach encountering jumps, straights, chicanes and other track features made from the natural sand.
Similar races take place at Weston Super Mare and Weymouth. The event will take place on Saturday and Sunday 11th and 12th December between tides, other entertainment will be on site for spectators who will be able to watch all of the excitement FREE OF CHARGE. The AMCA has been organising off road events since 1932. It is hoped that as well as providing a first class event for riders and spectators, it will also generate welcome business for the seaside resort out of season.
The organisers are working closely with East Lindsey District Council and the East Lindsey Event Safety Advisory Group to ensure that this event can be held in a manner that compliments the town, supports local residents and brings people to Skegness during the closed season in a safe and responsible manner. Whilst ELESAG supports such innovative ventures, their role is to provide advice and guidance to event organisers and to ensure the safety of the communities of East Lindsey and visitors to the area and as such will continue to make recommendations to the event organisers and as individuals undertake such action as necessary to ensure that the event is legal and safe.
